ABOUT US
Our church began in 1997 as a student organization, Jacksonville Christian Life, at the University of North Florida, with the vision of connecting college students to Jesus Christ and His Church.
Almost 10 years later, our pastors began dreaming of launching a next-generational church that would focus on reaching young singles, young families, and the young-at-heart in the broader Jacksonville community. What is today Awaken Church launched in 2008.
Since the launch of Awaken, our passion remains fixed on effectively mobilizing young people and the young-at-heart to God-driven action and empower them to live mature and missional lives. That ongoing vision, passion, and burden is why we exist.

Andrew Roberts
Andrew, wife Stephanie, and their three boys, have a heart for reaching the next generation, especially on the college campus. Andrew leads outreach on several of the college campuses in Jacksonville.
Frank Liu
With a background in marriage and family counseling, Frank's heart is to see people fulfill their God-given potential. He and his wife Gisela have one son and three daughters.
Richard Dubay
Richard has a strong heart for helping people feel welcomed and loved. Along with his wife Jackie and their two children, Richard serves as an Elder and co-leads a community homegroup.
